The amazing Year five and six camp

W.A.L.T: Organise my ideas into paragraphs and link them together

Boom its hot in here it must be commitments coming first this year.
Sorry about that I was just saying the chant that the commitments made up for the year five and six camp performance. Did you know that every year all the year five and six students receive an opportunity to sleep in tents?

If you were thinking we have to go real far for our year five and six camp
guess what its held on our school field.  Camp is all about fun. We do stuff like swimming, dancing, baking, kayaking, roller skating, tininnis and eating yummy food.  We also have  many more activities. We started the day sitting in  the hall waiting for instructions. Suddenly Mr Burt came out of nowhere and gave us some advice about what we should be doing at camp .  All I remembered was don't ask you mama for help , I was really confused.

Later that day The girls from the commitments rushed to the tuck shop, we kinda used the tuck shop as our kitchen. And guess what we were making?…….  anzac biscuits.  When I first heard Mrs Garden saying anzac biscuits I started to have dribbles in my mouth.  She then  informed us to get into groups of three and to start gathering all the ingredients. We  then  started  to mix all the  ingredients and finished of by putting the raw anzac biscuits in the oven.  Snif snif snif it is now ready the girls were very lucky because we were the first one to taste the anzac biscuits.

Next up we went kayaking but before kayaking we all had lunch. For lunch we had one anzac biscuit 2 apples or plum and one carton of milk. At that time  I first admired the anzac biscuits, then I took a little  sniff and one big bite. It was crunchy very delicious, and tasty.

With a loud voice Mr Somerville said get changed to your togs. Everyone rushed to the toilets and got changed. Later we lined up and head of to the point england beach for kayaking. There we saw Mr Burt, he was there to tell us all about kayaking.  Afterwards we each got an kayak and started exploring around the sea. After 3 or 4 round we stopped and went back to Pt England school.

Camp is really fun and if you are going to be a year five and six next year you will be filled with joy like me. I don't want to spoil the surprise so make sure you guys come you will enjoy it.
Hey guys if you guys are going camp next year heres a tip. You should have fun and make sure you get everything for camp like your swimming togs or you might be the only one missing out on goining to th mangarai pools
This the score I got for my writting by Talita.

Maritime museum and Malama Honua

It was wednesday morning, I rushed to the hall with excitement #t was Wednesday morning, I rushed to the hall with excitement, I hope you guys are wondering why? well the extension group and I were going to visited the Maritime Museum to learn all about wakas or vakas.
When we first got there  I actually found something really interesting . Did you know that  when I first put my leg on the Hikianalia ( the ship) I noticed its like a kayak. Kalepa Baybayan  and his crew doesn't drive the boat with an driving wheel but with a paddle. There are also things like toilets, bedrooms inside the Hikianalia and also a kitchen.
We also learnt some names and action that was representing things like the ground, the sun and many more things. We then had been told to go outside for a big surprise, Bom it was the loudest canic i've ever heard and also the first canon I've ever seen. Later that day we got and chance to explore around the museum. I found out  that some of the beds inside the hikinilia is made out of hay.

The Year 5/6 camp at Pt England School

W.A.L.T :make connections across a wide range of texts.
Hey! have you ever been to the year five and six camp? This week it is going to be my second time.  Last year I was really  nervous  but from all that fun it goes away. Unless its dancing time,
This year I wanted to see  how other people felt that has already been to the year five and six camp.

I visited Ana’s blog to see how she felt and This is what I’ve been informed.
When I first read her first paragraph it seemed like she was enjoying camp. I also
found out a game that was really hard for her, It was called top town. And did you know if you go to the year five and six camp you guys get to go kayaking! I think you guys have heard enough from me, I don't want to spoil the surprise.

I would like to give a vast shout out to Ana V for being a great person and writing about  how it feels to be in the year five and six camp.  You are a the best.

Our mission was to write a description about the year five and six camp. One of our task was to
google seach someone that has been to the year five and six camp and to talk about how they felt and every thing they did.

Papper tower challenge

W.A.L.T: write a detailed introduction with hook and orientation.
Intro
Early in the morning room six literacy class sat down just like every normal day. Suddenly Mr Goodwin informed us to put our netbooks away. Something was going on…  he gave us some materials  for our mission  to make the tallest tower out of paper, it was not good news for my team.

                                           Setup
Mr Goodwin handed out our materials. All he gave us was paper, scissors’ sticky tape  and eight minutes. There were five people in my group. My group and I had something in mind, I thought about it and my mind says it was a crazy idea.

                                               Action
The eight minutes had started! My group and I were panicking so much that we started ripping of our newspapers. I had a feeling that my group and I weren't cooperating at all. Few minutes later, we stuck our newspaper on top of another but it would it stand up at all, it had a mind for it’s own.

                                           Results
Times up! shouted Mr Goodwin.  My mouth was wide open and I was as still as a statue.  We had nothing done, it was a big disaster. Mr Goodwin then asked to place our piece of artwork in front of us. But we had no artwork done, we were filled with shame.

                                       Conclusion
I was feeling so happy and sad at the same time. Now that the paper tower challenges and many more crazy things we did with him is finished, like the noodles and the blindfold challenge, I think I should tell him to stop drinking too much coffee.
Our goal was to write an simple sentence, a complex sentence, and a question about a challenge that Mr Goodwin made. Here is what I got for my writing. click on my results to get a closer look
